Buying advice: weighted blankets
- 1Start near 10 percent of body weight. Go lighter if you're new or prefer gentle pressure.
- 2Choose a blanket sized for one person and the top of the mattress, not one that drapes over the edges.
- 3Glass beads are smaller and quieter than plastic pellets and spread weight more evenly.
- 4Weighted blankets can be warm. Cooling covers and knitted designs help hot sleepers.
- 5Heavy blankets are hard to wash. A removable duvet cover makes care easier.
