FAQ
Common questions
Why does only one earbud connect?
When only one earbud connects, the other earbud has either lost its pairing with the connected earbud (the two earbuds pair with each other before one connects to the phone) or has insufficient battery. The fix: put both earbuds in the case, wait 30 seconds for them to re-sync, take them out simultaneously, and retry. If one earbud consistently fails to connect, factory reset the earbuds and re-pair to your phone. If the problem persists after resetting, the non-connecting earbud has a hardware issue.
Why do my earbuds disconnect every few minutes?
Frequent disconnections are caused by four things: battery critically low (charge above 20 percent), the phone is too far from the earbuds (Bluetooth range is typically 30 feet in open space, much less through walls), wireless interference from other 2.4 GHz devices including WiFi routers and microwaves, or a firmware bug. Eliminate each cause in order. If disconnections happen regardless of distance, charge level, and environment, check for a firmware update.
My earbuds connect but have no sound, what is wrong?
If the Bluetooth connection shows as established but no audio plays: the phone may be outputting audio to a different device. On iPhone, check the AirPlay icon in Control Center and ensure the earbuds are selected as the audio output. On Android, pull down the notification shade and check which audio output is active. Another cause: the earbuds connected in HFP (hands-free profile for calls) rather than A2DP (audio profile for music). Disconnecting and reconnecting while music is actively playing often forces the correct profile.
Can firmware updates fix connection issues?
Yes, and this happens more often than users expect. Earbud manufacturers release firmware updates that address specific Bluetooth stack bugs, improve connection stability with certa in phone models, and fix pairing-related issues. Samsung Galaxy Buds, Sony WF series, AirPods, and Jabra earbuds all receive regular firmware updates via their companion apps. If you are experiencing consistent connection issues that other users report online, check forums for whether a firmware update has been released to address it.
