Buying advice: space heaters

Ceramic suits quick heat in small rooms. Oil-filled suits bedrooms and all-day heat. Infrared suits warming a person at a desk.
A 1,500 W heater typically warms around 150 square feet as primary heat. Insulation and ceilings change that.
A digital thermostat cycles the heater to hold a temperature and avoids overheating the room.
Look for tip-over and overheat shutoff — cool-touch housing and a UL or ETL listing.
Plug directly into a wall outlet — not an extension cord or power strip, and keep at least 3 feet clear around the heater.
