Buying advice: resistance bands

  • 1Pick power loops for assisted pull-ups and strength, tubes with handles for upper-body exercises, and mini bands for warm-ups and glute work.
  • 2Sets with several levels let you progress. Labels vary widely by brand, so compare actual pound ratings.
  • 3Layered latex is strong and stretchy. Fabric mini bands don't roll up on the thighs. Latex-free options suit allergies.
  • 4Check that handles and door anchors attach securely. Metal clips last longer than plastic.
  • 5Inspect bands before each use and replace any with tears. Anchor bands to something solid.
